NEW! - IIS-OTP SMS based OTP System is Now in General Release

IIS-OTP is our new, inexpensive highly scalable SMS (cell phone) based OTP (one time password) system. The system is simple and very flexible. It can, in many instances, be configured to easily retrofit an existing web authentication system (particularly forms and AD based). A cell-phone OTP system can be added to IIS which accomodates 10's of thousands of users for under $1000 USD. Note that no service subscriptions are required. All that is needed is access to a standard SMTP email server. See the IIS-OTP pages for details and a free trial.

NEW! - RadCAS Radius client fully Interoperable with Dotnet

RadCAS, our COM based Radius client, is now shipped with a Dotnet assembly proxy which facilitates full compatibility with dotnet. RadCAS still retains its COM interface for full ASP compatibility. Please see the sample web page downloadable at the bottom of the RadCAS Technical page to see how easy it is to use RadCAS with Dotnet.

NEW! - TCP Scope V1.0

TCP Scope is our new proxy based sniffer for TCP connections. Its a purely application based system which gives packet-by-packet dumps of designated TCP streams. As it us purely application level, no low-level drivers are required. This avoids the problems of unforeseen incompatibilities realized with most packet sniffers.

Please proceed to the TCP Scope pages for find out more and to acquire a free demo.

RadIIS Late Breaking News

RadIIS 2.6 Release Available - RadIIS, our Radius authentication package for IIS, continues to gain acceptance. The system uses a simple combination of existing protocols/standards to provide a total web access security solution. Please proceed to the RadIIS pages for more information. New features with V2.6 include support for additional one-time-password schemes and the ability to authenticate via ODBC databases.

NEW: 3 new freeware Radius authentication servers are now available. These make RadIIS configuration and development much easier, as a full scale Radius server isn't required. Please see the Radius Test Server page for details and download links. Also, there is production 'authentication only' server. Use of RadIIS with this server makes expensive CAL licensing unnecessary in most cases.

RadIIS Update: Please see Company : Customers page for an expanded list of recent customers.

NEW! - Radius COM Automation Server

We are currently shipping RadCAS 1.2, our new Radius COM Automation Server. RadCAS is a descendent of RadIIS, but is not an IIS/ISAPI component . It is a free-standing server based on ActiveX technology. RadCAS permits ASP/VBScript/VB/VC++ applications to do Radius Authentication. Version 1.1 included extensive facilities to access attributes returned by Radius authentication transactions. This greatly increases the options available when using RadCAS to implement Radius authentication solutions. New with Version 1.2 is a COM server that allows binary downloads from asp pages. Please proceed to the RadCAS pages for details and a demo.

Advantages of Attenuate

Microsoft's definition of throttling for IIS is 'rejection of service' (Knowledge Base Article Q238145). From: http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/Articles/q238/1/45.asp :

The (IIS) bandwidth setting determines whether IIS accepts or rejects a request for a static HTML page, based on periodic samples of the rate at which bytes are sent on the server.

As an example, assume you use IIS's throttling to limit a site to 50 kbs. When the download rate for this site reaches this limit, new requests are dropped. With Attenuate, traffic is slowed and additional requests are serviced, all within the 50 kbs limit. Slow response is cause for complaint, but rejection of service gives your customers the idea you went out of business!

Attenuate uses a well-established algorithm to SLOW specified requests so that bandwidth constraints are met. With Attenuate, no requests are rejected! You get real control of all traffic, not just static content. With Attenuate you get many/most of the bandwidth control options available only with traffic shaping hardware. Please proceed to the Attenuate pages for details . 15-day demos can be obtained free of charge.

IIS is here to stay.

IIS is a major player in the internet server arena. It has grown up quickly to meet the need. This rapid growth, built on the 'anti-server' architecture of Windows, has resulted in a few deficiencies.

ASP uploads (port 80) can, in many instances, bring an IIS server t o its knees. All downstream traffic is frozen. Bandwidth throttling (service rejection) for downloads, exists in the form of a poorly implemented algorithm offering very few options. The result is servers that can swamp all resources for smaller businesses. Also, a few high bandwidth users can steal most /all the capacity, leaving your other users lagging.

Attenuate has be introduced to remedy these shortcomings. Inexpensive and easy to configure, it promises to be a standard add-on for IIS.
