TCP Data is located in Dallas, Texas, USA. The vast communications/internet
infrastructure provides an ideal vehicle through which TCP Data maintains
its global presence
TCP Data started in Houston by a small group of experienced software developers.
The team brought together expertise in operating system theory, software
engineering, and network software. Common to all members was advanced university
training in Computer Science.
Most of the team members began their careers in the Unix arena. It is under
this operating system that the field of server/network software was born.
As MS-Windows matured, most of the members of this group widened their expertise
by doing project work with this operating system. Realizing the growing presence
of Windows-NT, and IIS, it was decided to pool the efforts of this group
to meet the needs of this rapidly growing market. A recent survey has shown
that IIS now accounts for over 30% of all servers on the internet, over 10
million installations. This market share is rapidly increasing, threatening
the domination of Linux in this market.
Windows NT has matured into a stable, sophisticated, and highly standardized
operating system capable of meeting the internet server challenge. TCP Data
has the technical resources to make significant contributions to this
realization.
